Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2021 First Nations Artist Residency

Blak Dot Gallery, in partnership with Arts Moreland and Moreland City Council are proud to present the First Nations Artist Residency program to support two Moreland First Nations Visual Artists in 2021. Artist will receive an artist fee of $2500, and an additional fee of $1000 to be used towards professional development, materials and other costs. Residencies may also include mentoring, an opportunity to exhibit new works, promotion, and support with development of  a public engagement event such as artist talk, panel discussion or workshop.

This Residency program provides a unique opportunity for two Moreland based First Nations Visual Artists to develop their practice in one of Australia’s most thriving arts communities with the support of leading Moreland based First Nations arts organisation, Blak Dot Gallery in 2021.

Artists at all stages of their career: emerging, mid-career and established are encouraged to apply. This residency program will give those who work in non-traditional and mixed- media, an opportunity to present their interpretation of lived experiences in contemporary society.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Artists must;

  • Be Moreland residents.

  • Acknowledge Blak Dot Gallery, Arts Moreland and Moreland City Council by using logos on all promotional material relating to the activity with the accompanying text ‘This event has been proudly supported by Blak Dot Gallery and Moreland City Council’.

  • Obtain any relevant legal permissions with regards to copyright and intellectual property rights.

  • Adhere to any State Government and Commonwealth Government public health measures and restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19, in place at the time of the event or project.

FIRST NATIONS ARTIST RESIDENCY is supported by Moreland City Council through Arts Moreland.
