LATHAM

A SOLO EXHIBITION by ROBYNE LATHAM

“In this body of work I’ve drawn upon memory and shadows from childhood. I continue an exploration of Indigenous representation and re-representation, both on the canvas and within sculptural form.”

Over a thirty-year period Robyne Latham’s work has traversed media and form, with a strong emphasis on the object in space, where space itself resides in a metaphysical realm. In the last decade Latham’s art practice has explored the principles of social sculpture, employing action, thought, and object.

Robyne Latham has an MA in Fine Art, by research and has employed participatory action research methodology in both her art practice and in academic research projects.

Robyne has held a number of academic positions over the past 25 years, at La Trobe and Deakin Universities in Melbourne, Victoria and at Curtin and Edith Cowan Universities in Perth, Western Australia.
